This painting depicts my interpretation of Dana Point (aka "Killer Dana") and the cove before the man-made creation of  Dana Pt. harbor destroyed it.  I looked at dozens of archival photos to get the most accurate depiction of what I wanted to portray. What a terrible loss for the surfing community to lose a gem of a wave like this one. The harbor was built in '68 -'69 and will forever be a grim reminder of how reckless & selfish human actions can permanently alter our natural environment in a very negative way.
